About Us

Chartered in 1891, Bellingham Elks Lodge No. 194 is one of Washington State's oldest fraternal organizations, and the building on Samish Way carries that history on its walls, literally. Old photographs tracing the lodge's evolution line the interior, giving every visit a sense of continuity that newer venues simply cannot replicate. Members and guests consistently remark on the warmth they feel the moment they walk through the door.

The lodge sits at a genuinely useful crossroads, positioned between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, minutes from the San Juan Islands ferry routes and the Mt. Baker foothills. That geography draws a membership that reflects the full range of Whatcom County life, from longtime Bellingham families to newcomers who found their community here first.

With a 4.5-star rating across dozens of reviews and a spacious facility that hosts everything from dance events to private celebrations, Lodge No. 194 is active, welcoming, and rooted in something real. This is not a relic. It is a working organization that funds scholarships, supports veterans, and runs youth programs every year.

What We Offer

Lodge No. 194 offers far more than a meeting hall. On the membership side, this is a full fraternal organization with regular lodge meetings, community programs, and a national network of Elks resources behind every local initiative. Youth programs including the Hoop Shoot basketball competition and Drug Awareness education reach students across the Bellingham area, while scholarship funding opens doors for local students heading into higher education.

Veterans services are a cornerstone of the Elks mission nationally, and the Bellingham lodge carries that forward with dedicated programs for those who served. The facility itself is available for outside groups as well. The main hall has hosted dance events, family gatherings, and private celebrations, all with ample parking and room to spread out. RV parking is also available on site, a practical amenity that sets this location apart from most event venues in the region.

"Great location with plenty of parking. The building has plenty of space for special occasions. I believe they rent out the space. Great old photos about the lodges history. We met many friendly Elks Lodge members. They have different activities throughout the week and have a very friendly bar tender and well stocked bar. Great community to be a part of."

"We use the venue here for dance events and the members have always been incredibly welcoming! That said, the decor is a tad gaudy and the vibes are odd, but it’s certainly all very charming!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
